Spring gardening
Every year, my mom, and I sow seeds in our backyard garden and start seedlings indoors. This year, we started several types of flowers, squashes, herbs, broccoli, and tomatoes in seed starters, so they could get strong before we put them in the garden. We also sowed in kale, lettuces, mustard greens, radishes, snap peas, kohlrabi seeds directly into the garden bed. It's exciting to watch them pop out of the soil!
Did you know that there are different gardening zones? We live in the 6b zone in Northwest Arkansas. It may be different for you! Typically, our last frost is May 1st, and our first frost is November 1st, so that's why we plant frost resistant plants directly in the garden this time of year. In the meantime, our other seedlings can get strong in their pots until after May 1st.
Happy Spring and Planting!
